Birth Doula Services

$400-$700 *

As your birth Doula, I provide physical, emotional and informational support to a woman during labor, birth and the immediate postpartum period. For more information about the benefits of using a Doula, see the DONA website. My services include:

• 2 prenatal visits
• Phone and email contact
• On call support from your 38th week until the baby's birth.
• Backup doula support available in the rare case that I am not available when you begin labor.
• Attendance during the labor, birth and a short time afterwards.
• Advocacy for you and your partner during and after the birth.
• 2 postpartum visits
• Lactation instruction and support within the scope of my training and experience.
• Referrals
• Photos of the birth and newborn baby, as possible.
• Your baby's birth story written by me.
• Respect and support for the mother’s birth preferences.
• Once you request my presence during labor, I will make every attempt to arrive within 1 hour or provide a backup Doula.

Services do not include:

• Medical services such as fetal heart monitoring or vaginal exams.
• Operating medical equipment.
• Making decisions or confronting the medical staff. I will help you get the information you need from your care provider(s) so that you can make your own informed decision.

Postpartum Doula Services

$15-$25 * per hour
3 hour minimum

As your postpartum Doula, I come into your home in the first few weeks after the baby's birth to provide household help, advice with newborn care and feeding, and emotional support. The DONA website contains information on the benefits of postpartum Doula Services. My services could include:

• Spending time with the new baby allowing you time to rest or shower.
• Spending time with the new baby’s siblings.
• Ensuring that the mother is getting sufficient food, water and rest.
• Providing referrals.
