About the Doula – Jennifer Pesetsky, CD(DONA)

Jennifer Pesetsky - Birth and Postpartum Doula

“A doula enters the space of a labouring woman and is highly responsive and aware of her needs, moods, changes, and unspoken feelings. She has no need to control or smother. Every pregnant woman should have the benefits of a doula. This person does not detract from the role of the baby's father or co-parent, by the way. It enhances it and leaves him (or her) free to do the very important job of loving the mother.” Christiane Northrup, M.D. Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom

I feel honored to be a Doula. It is a pleasure for me to come into people’s lives during this wonderful and intense period.

My interest in pregnancy, birth and the Doula career goes back many years during which time I worked as a legal researcher. I decided to follow my Doula passion in early 2009; I became a certified Doula through DONA in September of 2009. I look forward to many more years of helping parents and greeting their babies.

I live in Berkeley, California with my husband, Scott. Minimizing my impact on the environment is very important to me. I drive a hybrid car and try to make other environmental choices when possible. I enjoy travel, hiking, knitting, crochet, sewing, and spending time with the loved ones in my own life.
